I have had an open permit for ten years to add an entry porch to my house. Finally got tired of waiting blockwork and decided to do wood all the way and be done with it.
Original old porch, is shot.
Little bit of old porch.
Ain't this special?
More goodness!
Basement steps, real steep and nasty.
The outside steps were the most solid part!
It came off in ten minutes. I had a temporary porch for the basement steps I'll show if I find any pictures. Next chapter is beginning the new porch.

Neighmond, it looks like it was intended to be a cold room/mud room vestibule. Interesting it doesn’t have access to the space underneath. What are your intensions, rebuild?

Yup! It's under way, I just have to get photos together.

Looking forward to your photos. An entry porch is a great thing for keeping the house clean(er).

Looking forward to what you have designed. A full three season porch?

Re: When you get tired of waiting
I elected to replace it with a porch that had a grade level door to the basement and kitchen, so during our nine months of crappy winter I have at least one set of steps that ain't half ice.
In the background you can see the temporary entry we built to cover the basement hole after the first porch was sent to its reward.
The walls were built and put together after screwing the studs together.
You can see the basement stairwell in the corner. This damn project is more of a nuisance than it had any business being!
Hillbilly scaffold over the basement stairs.
Roof framed.
It spent its first winter as an open porch with a roof, which is better than it could have been. The roof was done the last day before the winter came to stay.
