The Historic District

Since we moved in my wife wanted a dishwasher and a I've always said when we do the kitchen we would put one in. So this past week I caved in and we bought one. We had to sacrifice a cabinet for it.

I spent most of the day cutting up a cabinet and doing the install.

Looks good! And you got a bookcase and/or platter storage out of it. I really don't care whether or not I have a dishwasher, but when we redid the kitchen, my husband installed one in the island. I am hoping that having it will deter the removal of the original cabinets. I think kitchens are the status symbol for the house, and thanks to HGTV, future owners will consider ripping out everything if the convenience isn't there.
