A LONG OVERDUE UPDATE -
My orginal web site material posted on oldhouseweb.com and hosted by Verizon went away long ago when Verizon decided to quit hosting web sites for its telephone customers. My original material is now back online hosted by an automobile forum I am a member of, with my old 1927 house projects available at these links.

Please note that some links within these web pages may no longer function, as they have simply gone away.

Welcome on board!!!!

Rodpaine I just have to know... with the gravel you added to your driveway how do you combat the weeds? We did stone in part of our back driveway (prior they just drove onto the lawn to get to the back of the house) but the weeds and I have been battling for years and they are winning.

Love the window files and posters with captions.

So no one finished the exterior wall of your house at the porch roof??? Wow that was a sleezy shortcut by the builder. On my house built in 1880 they had even painted the front of the house before adding the porch. It was another place I was able to confirm the original house color.

Your house looks great!!!!

Hi, nice house and documentation, I like the matching garage, is the upstairs of that finished or is it storage?

The driveway is 12-inches deep and just a few shots of Round-Up takes care of any weeds.
Ya and quite a few houses in our area were built the same way, having lived here 33 years and seeing other porches opened up at various times. Perhaps a 'Virginia' thing?
Thank you!

It's finished and heavily insulated. It was my office when I worked out of my home, still my office but configured differently now. The garage is also heavily insulated and is where I still do some automobile stuff, as this is still my lifetime hobby... but I keep cutting back as I get older. ;-)

My car background is at this link http://www.mye28.com/tech/rods_pages/index.html which was up until late 2013, when I sold the BMW. Current stuff involves a 2015 VW Golf R and road racing, but no longer adding to this web site. Not really enough time to do both.
