Wish us luck, folks!

We're going to try to install our Ming Green toilet this weekend.

Neither of us have ever installed a toilet before.

Lisa, pretty strait forward, if may give a suggestion or two. Use new fastening hardware, do not tighten the nuts down supper tight, you may crack the toilet or even worse the flange. If your toilet has only two holes for mounting to the floor, seal the edge with a bead of silicon but leave a small gap in the bead by your feet. If you have four mounting holes no need for the silicon. The gap in the beading will leak if the wax ring fails, you will know this when your feet get wet.

Sadly, I didn't get as much done as I'd have liked, and the toilet's not swapped.

Blogged, of course.

Somebody give me a hug or a pep-talk or a beer.

Restoring the plaster "tile" is miserable, thankless work.

Lisa, only you will know the effort, every on else will see a seamless repair and be impressed. One of the greatest compliments of a great repair are those that are never noticed.

Slow going. I have to contort myself to do any of this work, and I've been battling headaches all weekend.

Please be careful, hopefully the head aches are not from over exposure to fumes from the materials you are using.

I suspect they're from my chronic sinus issues, combined with horrible contortions.

I'm actually a professional painter, but not a house painter. I'm more used to painting twenty feet in the air, than I am used to cramming myself behind plumbing.

I certainly admire your fortitude. Your work is always so amazing and well done. :) I hope you finish up soon and can just admire your work.

Ugh.... I seem to have a full-on stomach bug. Bathroom isn't finished, and we are hosting a party on Saturday.
