Starting on the house again after a long break

Post by 1918ColonialRevival »

Just wanted to say hello to everyone after joining this site. We were members at the Old House Web forum, but noticed there is not much activity over there anymore. Luckily, we found the link to the "new" forum over there.

We started work on our 1918 Georgian Colonial Revival in 2009, but had to suspend all projects for a few years due to rising costs of materials coupled with longer work hours, unstable work schedules, and years of stagnant wages. We are starting work again this month and hope we will not have another four year hiatus. It's been a long uphill climb.

Our website, http://www.colonialrevivalrestoration.com, has not been updated for a few years, but will be gradually rebuilt this coming spring and summer.

We are looking forward to resuming work, sharing projects, and asking questions/sharing information along the way!

Welcome to the District. Many of the names you may recall form the old sites, many will be new to you. All with fine homes and a story to tell.

Thanks to all for the welcome. Over the next few months, in addition to working on the house, I hope to make some significant changes to the site. We've done a lot more research and have had some interesting developments, including a visit from the original owner's granddaughter.
