Re: Help me choose a light fixture...(and an update!)
Yup, either one would work well. The first one is more along the lines of the lights you already have; the second is different and a nice contrast.
I'm with jade in that my fav is the second...I like the straight lines and angles of the hanging system.

I don't think you want to try flooding the willow--they are water-loving plants. A willow tree sent out roots an amazing distance to tap into and clog our sewer line. And probably no drought predicted anytime soon in your area. Got moose? Willows are on their menu. Or maybe a smaller version like a ...

Re: Does your living room have lights?
I like the looks of ceiling lights just to make that big flat space more interesting, but don't like the glare most of them seem to have. We love ours but rarely turn them on because of that. The hunt for some great lights would be fun--and yeah, maybe a bit frustrating. At least we have Etsy, CL an...

Beautiful house in a beautiful town! Used to visit BIL there. Is the Dock Lunch at the ferry slip still in business?
Any idea what the Maypole looking thing in the last photo is?

Don--LOL! Well, Perry has decided that the next step is a call to the Humboldt County clerk to verify the date of that document, but he and Paul are headed out on a fishing trip to the lake, and Della and Mr. Della are headed to the woods out of phone and internet range until Friday. Hope she doesn'...

Re: The Petch House is sold
I'm starting to think the same thing. There's about 3 weeks between the petition and hearing dates on the others. In my state there is a 3-month span (I think). But could there have been unusual circumstances that caused a delay? And, yes I'm older. We kids worked our Saturday night baths in around ...

Re: The Petch House is sold
I've been watching too much Perry Mason and thought I would see what could be found about Greg. Was able to locate the petition Mick_VT mentioned but only on the Google search engine. Here it is, along with the site address: m 09/16/15--17:00: NOTICE OF PETITION TO ADMINISTER ESTATE OF GREGORY JAMES...
