Re: New here but not new to our old house

Hi Dan,

Firstly, I hope you are well! Lovely to see your beautiful house again and see the work you've both put into your restoration.

Re: jharkin- I made you an offer last year, it still stands.

Halderman Some folks say they are too expensive but to me (with the amount of dentil molding I have to strip), it's been worth it's weight in gold. I love my SPS almost as much as my staging. Check online there are websites that show you how to build your own inexpensively but that sounds too risky ...

Woohoo... Nice to 'see' you again Jade For anyone not in the know - Jade worked on one of our windows, DH and myself were able to meet her at a free workshop here in MA She is very generous with materials and advice, she deserves any credit for the work she does to save old windows All she has to do...

Re: Still kicking myself!

Our fathers never wanted to meet. I easily found their names after finding their fathers ten year old obituary, and found their addresses and phone numbers online with just a little digging. The internet is amazing for finding people. Just not sure what to say, or if to bother with it. Oh do try - ...

Re: Painting!

LOVE the door! Nuff said I too like a good sage green and I've been putting off painting the stairs/landing because the color we chose for the Purple House is a very warm cream but I realized that I want it painted green. At home our house has mainly cream walls but the stairs/landing are anaglypta ...

Re: Still kicking myself!

I did finally find a phone number for the brother. The address she gave me wasn't totally correct (he lives on a side street) so I used our town website (that lists all property owners) and then ussearch.com to narrow down the results and there was only one person with his first name who wasn't in h...

Re: I now own a 1915 house full of beadboard walls and ceili

Nice bead board - I think we have the same style here in our turret in MA. Yours looks to have been painted so you have plenty of scope for your own design choices. I wouldn't worry too much over the light fixtures - just choose something you like that isn't over fussy (and that you don't bang your ...

Re: The Swamp in our Yard

Sadly any water we get in the yard is groundwater, in the flood of 2010 we had 8" in the basement and it was a foot deep in the yard Thankfully we have a drainage system and a pump that pumps the water out of our property, over the hill behind us and onto our neighbors property. The neighbor in...
