Re: What type of adhesive for stair rail repair?

Titebond II (green label) would be a good choice. Or if you are concerned with drips, Titebond also makes a glue that is specifically designed for trim work that is low-drip/run (black label) I use both frequently and like them.

Wood trim on top of your baseboard radiators will be just fine. They don't get nearly hot enough to cause any damage to real wood or even MDF.

Here's a picture of how we made ours look a bit better.

Ours were manufactured by Crane and were installed sometime in the late-40's as a replacement for the original decorative floral Victorian upright radiators. We added some decorative trim on top to make ours look a bit better and some quart...

Everything is coming together very nicely. Great job re-purposing that corner cabinet & getting those faucets re-plated!

That's a fine looking house!

If you don't mind me asking, where in Indiana are you located? I'm down in the southern part in Bedford.

Re: What architectural style is this?

Gotcha. I'll look into that today after work. Forgot to mention, when my son and I were poking around in the attic space over the front parlor/bedroom we removed a piece of drywall that was barely fastened on the gable end to see what was behind it...... The backside of what appears to be cedar fish...

Re: What architectural style is this?

Closing went well. Our drive to the seller's realty office took 40 minutes each way and the actual closing only took about 15 minutes! We made it back home in time for my wife to bail out on me to go to a PTO meeting and then to a meeting at work which meant she wouldn't be getting home until after ...
