Don, we call it the yellow room. It's the smallest bed room. The before pics are a few pages back.

Well folks, got the tinted primer/sealer on the current restoration room ceiling. Looks a lot better now.

Re: Gothichome, the restoration of.
Next up for your veiwing pleasure is another great, if not super find. Wasn't sure if I should post here or on the antique thread. But because it is going into the home and there will be at least a little bit of demolition and construction going to happen here it is.
This most defiantly period for Gothichome. Classic Aestetic period, notice the ever present sunflower in the corner tiles and the cast iron frame.
And some cast iron spindle elements.
The heavy fire brick, as you can see, has broke but I think that's not a big deal. The whole thing fits perfectly in the recessed brickwork that housed the original long gone insert. As posted it is sitting proud of the firebox by about six inches or so. I need to demolish the bricked in box to get it set it back into it's proper installed position. Oh, and I am on the look out for a grate and grate front.

Skim coat on the new project room this morning.
Hopefully I will get it sanded by the end of the day. Next week, sealer and primer.
Folks another update. A before the after but after the defore picture.
All the trim has been painted and the walls washed. While waiting on the wallpaper to show up. I'll do some clean up. Sanding dust gets every were. All that you see other than the ceiling is original plaster.
Re: Gothichome, the restoration of.
Do you have a scary beforeBEFORE pic of the room ? It looks really good now.
Question: what is going on with the upper part of the window arches ? Is there exterior detail that is covering them up ?

Willa, what you see is the aluminum filler panel for the triple track storms. Unfortunately Gothichome had lost most of her original storms long ago, probably a decision made when the aluminum storms were installed. What original storms are left I have relocated to the front of the home and just swapped the aluminum around. The picture of the room with the curtains is a bit misleading. It doesn't show the ceiling or some of the falling wallpaper.
This is the same ceiling after removal of the ceiling and wallpaper.
