Today, we were supposed to have a perennial plant exchange. But, it was cancelled due to lack of interest. (There was a walking tour of the historic Oak Hill Cemetery at the same time, and I think a lot of people decided to go to that, instead.)
But, since I was mobilized, and ready to do some work, (kind of unusual for me, on a Saturday ) I finally made and installed the shingles in my front gable. (see this thread for the full discussion, if interested: viewtopic.php?f=29&t=674)
Per Mick_VT's suggestion, I made a little jig: (I only did 2 at a time, instead of 4)
Here are the completed shingles, I have a lot of extra:

Yes, good job. Glad you decided to tackle it yourself.

Ugh. So the roofer is still working on the flashing project today. He found some rotten wood around the chimney that needed repair before he could even complete the flashing. I am really looking forward to being contractor free again. I'm grateful I am able to get things fixed but it is just tiring to organize contractors and have the constant din of roof work going on. *sigh*

Re: What I did at my house today...
I hear you, Don. I don't know if I just have crappy luck or what, but I seem to find contractors with really awful communication skills. One guy just talks in circles and will keep you on the phone telling you the same things multiple times and the other 2 guys were just so hard to get a hold of and get to commit to a particular day. So tiring and frustrating! No one ever had to chase me down to give me money!
Oh well! Today it was finally finished and she looks so much better! What a relief!

Thanks, Don! It's much improved. I had a tree growing out of the top and some water coming in one of the bedrooms, so I hope everything will be dry now. lol!
