Well ladies and gents front is stripped clean and the underlayment is down. Tomorrow they lay shingles. Had some exitement, the roofers found a hornet nest under the eaves. Gave the fellow a bit of a problem, but those roofers are tough, none of them cried when they got stung. So the working class fellow dealt with them after they left. There was the hornets, and a paper wasp nest to deal with. Hopefully there will be no more angry wasps and hornets to beal with in the AM.

Don, do you think that set up will inspire a fashion trend? Mick, not a survival suite but it is a heavy cold weather rain suite. Just taped up every hole I could find. Also covered up my face with some shear curtain material.

Well folks, after two long days for the roofers, the front half on our new roof is mostly complete.

They budgeted three days to do the whole roof, suspect they will be back tomorrow.

Oaktree and others, thanks. It's coming along. The roof is done, but looking at changing the flashing on the flat top. Just got to get rid of that white crap. I know under that flashing it should be painted trim colour, but with the quality of today's paint I realy don't want to be up there every five years or so. My thoughts are a dark charchoal grey aluminum, I think it will separate the flat top from the roof and make it look a bit more uniform, also, the dark charcoal the roofers showed me looks a lot like aged lead, a common material for flashing in the day.
