Just joined this group and like what I see here. I like history and old things; furniture, coal stoves, cars, and most of all houses. I enjoy fixing things up but subscribe to the saying "If it ain't broke, don't fix it.". Too much history had been destroyed by modernizing or re-purposing.
I live in a 1930's era craftsman style house. On the inside it is all original. The outside, well it's plastic. Right now we are restoring the inside. When that's done, the outside.
I am a furniture maker so I have an advantage most don't have, a complete shop to work on the house. Unfortunately, the paying work keeps getting in my way. I make, repair, and restore furniture. I prefer furniture from the Queen Ann era through Victorian, but will make/work on anything that interests me. I will turn down jobs that don't interest me. No interest = not my best work. Below is a list of links where my work can be seen. Take a look.
Thanks, Al

Hi Alfort,
I see you post as Binghamton but are actually in Conklin? My Dad grew up in Binghamton on Millard Avenue. Our family owned McLean's Department Store which was a going concern until 1973. I still have cousins in Binghamton. Welcome to Wavy Glass! Don M

@ Don M.
Hi Don, I remember McLean's and know Millard Ave. I built a fence that is on the corner of Millard and Riverside Drive, 100% cedar. I live in Binghamton and my shop is in Conklin.
