Re: Window Sashes
lookin' good paul!!
I have a real appreciation for dark colors at the exterior--really makes the sash pop...
not sure how much space between the sash and the jamb but 'V' shaped spring bronze
may be an option for filling the gap next time around

Re: Window Sashes
Looks good to me too Paul. I’m glad my windows are single pane, you had all those muntins/sash bars to clean up.
I would love to try dark colored sashes, I like the way they look, just have to convince my wife.

Paul, I know (as do many in the District do) the work that goes into restoring. Good work, we’re you able to save all your wavy glass?

Re: Window Sashes
Thank you for the kind words.
I don’t believe these are the original sashes to the windows. At some point someone installed sashes that were close in size. The gap was 3/16” on each side and the bottom rail was 7-16” short.
Whoever installed them padded them with scraps and a ton of nails. I replaced them and did my best to hide the seams. I will post a closeup. There was no wavy glass .
This was a side window in our dining room. When I restore the front windows any breakage will be replaced with wavy glass.
Thanks again for the kind words.
