This is so sweet. I love the idea so much. Sounds like fun! If I was in the area I'd swing by with a potato salad ;-)

That is a perfect idea. I will be there in spirit, but raise your glass and celebrate things you are still destined to do while here.

Nicholas, as others have said, sounds like a hell of a way to move on from past sadness. Reading the posts, I know most of us are the last of the boomers, and we still think we can party like it's the late seventies, we'll all but Chris ( who will be joining the gezzer set soon) and JJet. I'm in, I never admit to being old any how.

There is a difference between being old and acting old. And although my recent events may take longer than a year to deal with, I still get out there and try to keep things merry.

That's good - so your saying I can still score Geezerdom via a technicality!

Chris, don't rush into geezerdom. Your wife will laugh at you every time a kid at the restaurant asked if your claiming the senior discount, I of course refuse on principle. :D

Geezerdom does have its perks!

I don't like when the conversation turns to medical stuff..."my doctor said this and my prescription drugs that.....

Stop! You're making me feel old!

Nick, first off, I am so sorry for your loss. As someone from my past once taught me, those who we have lost are never really gone if we remember them. I try, on a particular day of the year, to tell myself a story, to remind me of someone who left the earth too quickly.

May your party, and your memories, allow you to cherish the past while moving ahead.

If, during the gig, you get into your vinyl collection, I am mentally offering up (along with a toast) my copy of 'That's the way I feel now'....a Monk tribute album (one of the few albums I have left in the collection). Enjoy!
