Does anyone know why Chris abandoned the site he spent so much time and energy creating for our community?

That's been a puzzle to me and I've wondered if there was a family, medical, or career crisis that caused him to drop things.

Edited to add: I just tried to access wavyglass and got the message that URL doesn't exist.

Hey Jill,
I have no idea why Chris abandoned the site. I approached him before we created this place and asked if I could either help him (as many had offered in the past), or if I could take the site over. Given that I had experience in such things I could have kept it going for him. But he denied the takeover request and never responded to the offer of help. After that he did not return my emails.

From what I can see (his other online activities) all is well for him, he just gave up on the site. It was a shame he would not work with me (or us) to continue it.

I have said this before but it stands repeating - I will not let that happen to this site, I will hand it over if such a time comes when I cannot or do not wish to maintain it. you guys are the site, period.

Thanks. I remember you trying to contact him about helping with the site and that he was non-responsive. He went to so much trouble to set up WavyGlass and seemed to have such good intentions. I just couldn't help but wonder if there was something major going on behind the scenes with him, but apparently you never saw any indication that was the case. I was very active on OHW, less so on Wavy Glass, and hardly at all here, but the only reason was that I just got busy and wasn't doing anything on the house. I do check in from time to time and see what's going on.
