An estey organ from around 1930. Still learning.....we got an expert here amongst us who has forgotten more than I ever knew! It'll be fun!

Those pipes will look grand all polished up. Well the whole thing will look grand. Has the church noticed thier organ is missing yet

The deacons have.....I t has been sitting in a storage room unloved since the eighties. Poor baby! Well, 450 lb baby......

It's gonna be like Phantom of the Opera at your house when that "baby" is up and running again

The pipes are only wooden look-alikes, gilted and polished. I think there was some sort of stencil design on them you can barely see if you look sideways at them.

The organ has many reeds in it, and they do the talking. Casey on here knows all about these, I can tell a tiny little bit of general technical odds and ends but he knows who,what, when, where and how! He already knew the pipe façade belonged..... I thought it might have been an imposter.

What's your end game for it? Are you keeping it or is it going back in to use in the church? Just curious. I gave an 1880's organ to my father in law, he was interested in trying his hand at restoring it. It's many years now in their Ottawa ON basement, he is no longer well enough to tackle it. They've asked me to repatriate it, but I have no idea where to put it or what to do with it.
...So free organ, anyone, lol.

It is going to come home and get repaired/restored, so I can play with it! If a church was to want to borrow it for a while that would be all right so long as they move it, insure it while they have it, and keep ignorant people away from it. Someday I may have to learn to read notes!

Nice find! It looks like it's toward the end of the reed organ era. Should sound nice when it's done.
