Sad news today: the house fell through. Due to the multiple meters from its former life as apartments, the mortgage company would not grant our loan. Feeling quite disappointed, but I know we have another old home in our future.

Dam, sorry to hear the deal fell though. But as mentioned, there are lots of old homes that would be happy to take you on as an owner.

My goodness, this has been a roller coaster ride! In a dramatic turn of events, the house is ours! I did not see this working out, but I guess it was meant to be!

I can't wait to roll up my sleeves and get her shining again.

It wasn't so much about changing minds, but finding a way to get the loan to work. We found a way! And in doing so, snatched the house back out of the hands of a known slumlord who would have let her deteriorate even further.

Congratulations! You've definitely gone for a roller coaster ride, lol. So glad that beautiful home is in the hands of someone who will show her some love! We are just starting our journey on our old home as well. I hope you post plenty of updates so we can follow along. Good luck!

Congrats!!! Not only to YOU but to the HOUSE too!

She's a cutie & I'm sure she will be very happy with her new caretakers (because you know, we never own them! We just take care of them during our "tenure".)
