Eric, it certainly does change the look. I think it’s the wider door as seen at street level, kind of says to the passerby, look at me. What did you do with the door you had and the stained glass ect.
From what I recal it was a very pleasing arrangement as well.

It's all for sale. It's actually not old at all, I believe it was installed in the 1980's. One thing I will say is the door is the heaviest sucker I've ever felt. Solid oak. It's actually worn the hinges down significantly.
I think it was a pretty arrangement, but I still feel the double doors are the right choice, if only from an originality standpoint.

Hey. How are things? You still around..?
Re: Jacob Beaty House (1874 Folk Victorian)
Hey all...yup, I'm still here! With news, too. My dining room is finally finished...in fact, I got it done the day before Thanksgiving and I was the host so in the two months leading up to it I was really under the gun to meet that deadline. I had to pump the brakes financially over the summer, but still managed to do some small projects that I'd wanted to do for some time. As it turns out, it was nice to have the summer free because I ended up with a pretty awesome girlfriend and thoroughly enjoyed taking some time to relax, go to the beach, and generally get out into the world for the first time since my divorce.
I have to take some pictures still, and will post them soon. Just know all is really great and the progress continues...Springtime will see the exterior finally get some love.
