Re: The bungalow project

Thanks! Yes, that's for the fridge. We had to cut out that space and bump into a bedroom on the other side of the wall for it. There is just no good place for a fridge in the kitchen otherwise. We did ask the son of the PO (he's stopped by a couple times) and they put it between the door to the mudr...

Re: The bungalow project

So that door I had to hang. It is apparently from another place in the house because it is a little bigger than the opening. I am going to cut it down to fit because I can only guess it belongs between the living and dining rooms but I need a bedroom door a lit more than a door there. The built in i...

Re: The bungalow project

Thanks! I know it's not correct for the house style, but it was already done-it just looked horrible after years of abuse. I was caught between going with brown again (kind of fakes you out at first and you don't immediately think PAINTED FLOORS) or matching the trim color. Popular vote was for the ...

Re: The bungalow project

The closets upstairs are mostly done. Also, while it might not be a popular decision, I painted the floors upstairs. They were already painted brown but it was in poor shape. I could have refinished them but his was quicker and a lot easier than hauling a floor sander up there.

Re: rain gardens

This is something we have been discussing in regards to the wreck of a cottage. It has no gutters and an enterprising po had a new driveway put in that actually goes right to against the house. It is, not surprisingly, causing problems. It is a small lot without storm drains at the road, or curbs fo...

Re: The bungalow project

Thanks! Leave it to me to pick a hot sunny day to work in the one room that doesn't seem very cool (the downstairs in particular has a "natural ac" effect-even my contractor thought the house had AC when he stopped by the other day). Got the trim painted but need to install it, then the to...

Re: The bungalow project

I didn't think it was that bad lol. I need to read the blog.

The bathroom as of today. The hottest room in the house.
