The warm sunshine yesterday had me wandering around the yard again, it hit 12 Celsius here but definitely had me thinking of spring! We have buds on all the fruit trees and the 200 year old chestnut, but still to cold to find any snowdrops.

I think the PO was an older couple living in the entire house on their own if I have my story right. They also used only wood to heat the whole house.. without a scrap of insulation to be found. Either way would be a great choice, love the cast scrollwork! Maybe just a rub down with some linseed oil to bring out the colour and give a matte sheen?
